Title: Tube tuner issue
Post by: bmwr75 on May 05, 2011, 07:32:12 PM
I recapped a H-K T300X tube tuner today.  It picks up the <100.0 FM stations well.  Above 100.0 it does not pick up to well.  102.5 should be a strong station at my house.  90.5 should be weak.  The reverse is true.  Does this tuner need alignment??

If yes, Anders do you do tuner alignments?

I do align tuners but I can't give you specs on the performance after alignment.
I basically align tuners to make them work properly.
Sounds like yours isn't tracking properly in the RF stage.

Did you test before the recap and did it do this before ?

I did test it before the recap.  It picked up stations pretty uniformly across the FM spectrum.

Will bring this tuner to you when I bring the Teac RtR in for service.
