If I did not already own ADS L1230s, I'd be interested in the ADS 710s.  Nice speakers!!

Looks like the same driver compliment in a larger box.   They really are very good sounding speakers.

I agree, I have the L810s and I love those speakers, they sound really nice.   I really am interested in those Technics.  Dont see those to often.

If it were not for the fact I may soon be getting a pristine pair of LST2s I would have to give those a listen.

I just listed the EPIs by themselves with pictures.   I said "pretty good corner bumps", so I decided pictures may be in order so people understand it is just the vinyl and not any sort of structural damage.

Onkyo receiver and Sony speakers sold.   They make a really nice little bedroom system together.

I had a response to my ad today.   It was a four word message that read "you talk too much".   That may be so, but at least I don't hide behind an anonymous CL address.   If it was one of you, man up and tell me what your issue is.   I'm a reasonable guy and can probably learn something from you.   TIA.

ESM asked for a pic of my binding posts, so I figured I'd put a couple pics up for everyone.   I didn't feel like dragging them upstairs and my camera sucks, so sorry they aren't better.

The binding posts are the only thing I don't like about these speakers.   If I keep 'em, I may have to mod 'em.

You bring life to the forum but are humble enough to back down and admit when you are wrong. I like that.

Get your hands on these.   They are quite heavy for their size too.   Picking them up you could be fooled into thinking they are a solid block of wood.

Thanks for the backup, but I am serious.   I'd much rather see whoever did that work it out than pull some sort of passive aggressive crap.   It hurts them far more than it hurts me.

I had a response to my ad today.   It was a four word message that read "you talk too much".

It wasn't me as I'm not a trouble maker, however I wonder if that was in response to the thread you started on CL regarding those JBL's?

Thread title

" Looks like someone is bitter...

I had to laugh when I saw "scroe". That is just a thing here, isn't it?

I think he is just sore because he never had a scroe. quite assumptive of you wouldn't you say?

I never thought about that.   I piss people off with enough regularity that it could be any number of people.   Still, though, I don't know how someone from AK and not from here would connect me to my CL ad.   I didn't post anything about it there.

I know I bother people sometimes, but I sincerely almost never mean to.   The only time I ever meant to bother someone here was when I gave it to Sheevs about a racist post he made.   That's the only time it was deliberate, but it's not the only time I've done it, I'm sure.

I just thought the AK post was funny, and never heard "scroe" until I visited them.   That's why I posted it there.   Thanks for the insight.

The cl  ad is down now so I couldn't read it. I don't visit AK; I thought the whole "scroe" joke was a joke here only. I guess it made the rounds elsewhere haha.

STaL...you could walk into an empty room and piss someone off >:D

What does scroe mean?

it was in regards to a craigslist post where the seller said he would not accept low ball offers so that someone could brag about their "scroe" on their favorite audio forum.

STaL...you could walk into an empty room and piss someone off >:D

It seems that way, but I honestly don't understand why.

Baby, do you understand me now
Sometimes I feel a little mad
But don't you know that no one alive
Can always be an angel
When things go wrong I seem to be bad
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree
With a joy that's hard to hide
And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry
Then you're bound to see my other side
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

If I seem edgy I want you to know
That I never mean to take it out on you
Life has it's problems and I get my share
And that's one thing I never meant to do
Because I love you
Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human
Have thoughts like any other one
Sometimes I find myself long regretting
Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

I don't know how long "here" has existed, but Scroe has been used on AK for many years.

I saw someone joking about it on the shout box yesterday. Thanks for the references, I didn't realize it had been going around on AK for a while.

I thought the "scroe" thing was funny also. I had no idea it was a thing elsewhere, just figured it was your typical c-list misspelling.

Back to the important stuff, those ADS are incredible, and yes you will drop a ball lifting them.

I have been refinishing mine the last few nights. sanded, 3 coats of watco, put some dark stain on the edges to cover up the putty, gave it a torched edge look (cheesy but effective). going to put 2 more coats on tonight and call it done.

I was absolutely blown away by the sound of these, running them off a NAD 7020E (20 wpc), i cant wait to hook em up to some bigger power and allow these to open up.

Personally i think your nuts for selling them, great frikin speakers imho. If i could get my asking price (or close) for the DCM's i would be on my way over to buy them.

Good luck with the sale Mark.

Like I said, I could use the vacation money.   If they don't sell this week, they probably don't sell.

BTW, I was doing some reading on them.   It seems there is such fat bass from two 7" drivers because each is in it's own internal cabinet (that also explains the weight).   The cabs are different volumes, each tuned to reinforce different frequencies.   I thought that was an interesting approach.

I got an email from a guy in Houston who says he is an ADS collector.   He says he is willing to send a postal MO for $300 plus actual shipping.   I don't know how I could get scammed if I wait until after cashing the MO to ship, but am I missing something?   TIA.

Even a postal MO can be counterfitted.  Be careful out there.

From https://es-about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2012/pb22328/html/mo_003.htm (https://es-about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2012/pb22328/html/mo_003.htm)

Verifying U.S. Postal Service Money Orders

Follow these steps to cash a Postal Service™ money order:
1. Check that the amount does not exceed the legal limit: $1,000 for domestic, and $700 for international postal money orders.
2. Check that the proper security features are present:
n When held to the light, a watermark of Benjamin Franklin is repeated from top to bottom on the left side.
n When held to the light, a dark line (security thread) runs from top to bottom with the word “USPS” repeated.
n There should be no discoloration around the dollar amounts, which might indicate the amounts were changes.
These appear in Postal Service Notice 299, U.S. Postal Money Order Reference Card, or online at www.usps.com/shop/accepting-money-orders.htm (http://www.usps.com/shop/accepting-money-orders.htm).
3. If the money order seems suspicious, call the U.S. Postal Service Money Order Verification System at 866-459-7822.
Please provide this information to local banks and retailers, as they also receive Postal Service money orders for cashing.

I'd rather sell local, but all I've gotten so far is a half dozen emails from people telling me why the ADS are only worth $150.   Screw that, I'll keep 'em before I'll sell than at that price.   They are really nice speakers.

If someone really just wants to low ball me, they should offer $50 for the EPIs.   That I might consider.

Tell them to kiss your a__ Stal, those ADS are well worth the price you have up.  Especially considering how clean they are.

I wouldnt let my 810s go, for no less then 300.  If no one liked it, oh well,  I could keep them and be happy with them.

Those are some beauties you have there.  Good luck selling them.
