New to Pittsburgh area
« on: March 18, 2011, 10:35:17 PM »
Hello Everyone.

My name is Jim and I am fairly new to Pittburgh area.  I lived in Arizona for about 20 years and recently lived in Seattle and now I am here.

I have been involved with audio all my life and I recently launched a site called:   www.myaudiolisting.com

I spoke with the owner of Vintage hifi and he invited me to the forum and to the monthly meeting so I am looking forward to meeting everyone on Mar 19 and he asked me to post about the new site I just launched here.

Al little about myself:  I started in hifi when I was around 12 years old from the time I started to hang out at my fathers stereo/video shop in Chicago.  I then went to college and continued to be an avid fan of high end stereos and then progressed onto trading on-line to upgrade my gears using eBay and audiogon.  Well after 15 years of using audiogon and eBay, I felt the fees were getting a bit ridiculous so I decided to make my own site that does not charge to list or any commissions. I also have a vision to create a community based listing site where various industry experts can post their bio and share their expertise with the community as well as be the single point where all the dealers across the globe can be listed without having to pay any fees.

I put some additional verbiage about my site on this link (About me).  http://www.myaudiolisting.com/cms.php?id=Mg==

I look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow at the meeting and getting back into hifi community here in Pittsburgh.

Thank you,

Jim

Welcome to the club. Nice site!
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.
