Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) DM 601 S2 Monitors
« on: January 12, 2010, 10:05:03 PM »
Greetings!

I have had these speakers sitting idle in their original box and packing for about 4 - 5 years.  They are black with the Nautilus style tweeter.  Condition is near mint 8/10 only because of age.  Great near field monitors.  These are great speakers for the money.  I have watching these on eBay and they typically sell for arounf $250 a pair depending on condition.  Mine are exceptional condition.  I am asking $200 (firm) before offering these on eBay where they should fetch about $250 - $275.  This is a great choice to own a world class monitor from a distinguished speaker company. Pittsburgh area only.  I will be at the Stereo Geek meeting this Saturday.  If you are interested, post here then PM me.  The attached pictures are not of the actual speakers.  I am too lazy to unpack them and take pictures.  I am such a lazy slug! :(

Check these out and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Bill!

I have a pair of KEF 101's that are very, very similiar to the Rogers LS3/5A.  Bot the Kef and the Rogers used the identical tweeter and driver.  The Kef crossover is a little different and mounted underneath the cabinet as to not breach the BBC patents.  The 101 does not have the BBC "dip" and some folks prefer it to the Rogers LS3/5A.  Fun stuff!!

Well.....those are all  certainly beautiful speakers, Carl. That's quite interesting how they "changed up" a few things here and there for not only legal reasons, but mainly tuning them to their own liking, if I read that correctly ?

Thanks for sharing that information, Carl.-----BILL
