Tube tester
« on: March 17, 2018, 03:26:33 PM »
Iíve got a dozen or more tubes that Iíd like to test. Some of them are of no use to me and Iíd like them tested before I trade/sell them. Anyone know where I can borrow a tester or take them to get tested? Thanks

If memory serves me correctly...

"schwarcw" (Carl) donated one to Tom Z. at "the shop"

Not sure of who else still has one(s)...

I didn't know that Carl had anything to do with that.   Not surprised though.

Greetings,

I have an Eico 667, which is a simple emissions tester, see link:

http://diyaudioprojects.com/Testeq/EICO-667/

It's not one of those fancy mutual conductance ones like a Hickock, etc.  It will tell  you if the tube is good or bad, that's about it.

Mike, Iím in Bethel Park. A lesson from me would be a case of the blind leading the blind. Iíve used one tester at Trader Jacks and it didnít really work. Iíve got a volunteer to help me with testing these tubes. Perhaps after I get schooled a bit I can pass the knowledge on to you.
