a few good record stores. I like New Kids the best but Magnolia and Spoonful weren't bad.

Seems my attempt at a phone post was cut short.

It has been some number of years, but there are/were two high end audio shops in Metro Columbus-Genesis in New Albany and Audio Encounters in Dublin.  New Albany is a northeastern suburb, Dublin a northwestern one.  I spent more time and money at Genesis when I lived there.

Re: Temporary shout box. sub for patio complete!

finished the build for the ported patio sub and the results far exceeded my expectations! (which never happens lol).  Took the very vintage Trusonic 4 cf (outside dimensions) and modified it to fit the HSU Research V-PF-12100LP driver, a Dayton Audio SPA250 plate amp that has the high level inputs and outputs and two flared 3" Precision ports @ +/- 19.5" long tuned to 24 htz per driver specs. Sprayed the box inside and out with truck bed liner. Covered the ports with some netting that the wife had on hand, not pretty but will modify them over the winter.  Had a hard time summing up the courage to drill the two 5 1/4" holes in the box for the ports....  not a thing of beauty but works very well in the open area. Digs surprising deep and the SPL is much more than adequate.

Lookin' good Jim, eager to hear.  I love the way things sound outdoors

We are staying in Dublin. Audio Encounters looks to be closed. Not likely to get to Genesis. Going to the COSI Science Center today, then record shopping down that way after.

Have fun!  Lived in Dublin for about 5 years, not too far from the Meier store on Sawmill Rd.

Bummer about Audio Encounters.  They were the Mac dealer; but that likely means there is another one.

I lived in Westerville for almost eight years and worked in town.  Columbus was about 1/2 the population of Pittsburgh, but had plenty of traffic.

Back home. I've always liked the area out that way, but the lack of turn signal use would make me homicidal. Seems like there is a higher concentration of daredevil drivers. You know, left lane drivers that cross 4 lanes at the last second to exit.

Dropped by Magnolia and Used Kids. Magnolia was a better experience and more friendly. They just bought a 10K lp collection from a National Record Mart buyer here in Pittsburgh. Bought a couple new LPs I've wanted for awhile. They didn't have a great used selection.

Used Kids needs to invest in some blinds for their front window. I got there after 7pm and the sun shines directly into the store and onto the records. They put little plastic sheets in front of the records, but now you can't see because of the glare. They did have a cubby of turntables, speakers, amps, etc. I thought the prices were a bit steep storewide, left empty handed.

The Attic remains my favorite record store.

What in the world has happened to the FB group Audiophiles NA? The great educated discussions and equipment reviews/ thoughts/ pics have given way to budget snobs, people with no experience or knowledge and an attitude that is just disgusting.  I unfollowed the group this morning.
