I use Audyssey and the microphone to do just that. They do love power!  They sound pretty darn good in the garage with the sub. The passive driver/ woofer really likes producing down to 40 htz,  while everything else does great down to just 60 htz. They also have adjustments to tweeters and to the mid range drivers which help in the garage hard surface enviroment  That all being said, if you listen to them, give them some love... you walk into the house and listen the KEFs and there is just no comparison lol

Passed it along to a friend, he called and may go on Wednesday to pick them up. Crazy, right? About two years ago another friend went to Detroit to clean out a warehouse his vending company bought. He brought back loads of 45's from jukeboxes. We all went over and looked through them all and took a couple boxes. The friend interested in the pallets got all the leftovers, sorted them, cleaned them and put them on discogs. He made well over $1000, some fetched nearly $100. 45 collectors are crazy with what they'll pay for something rare.

How many hours did he have in that?   I'm seriously guessing he made less than $6 an hour.   I know how much work cleaning and sorting is.   If he is a 45 guy and enjoyed the effort that's great.   I'm an LP guy and would have to research anything that wasn't absolutely common.   I don't know much about singles.

I try and go once a month to the 45 group  that meets up north. They all collect and are wildly knowledgeable., to the point it surprised me. Many have 1000s and pay big money for many of them.

I just wanted to post something about the Capital Audio Fest, instead of waiting for more of a post.  Maria and I went to DC on Friday, returned on Sunday afternoon.  There had to be at least 75 vendors, with simple rooms covering everything everything from lower end bookshelf speakers and integrated amplifiers to all out massive halls with all out systems costing well into the $400K range. I was surprised that the attendees were pretty much on par with the rooms. but what they did share was a passion for music and or equipment. Some a little more music, some a little more equipment, but all enthusiastic. My favorite part was that you got to talk to the designers and owners of small companies.

Outside of the KEF mega system, I truly loved the MC Audiotech  Forty-10 loudspeakers. Amazing transducers, they use an electronic crossover and only $35K/ pair lol  Got to talk with Paul the designer for quite a while. By Sunday I wasn't the only one to discover them.  I also really enjoyed the AudioNec Evo line of modular speakers. Very cool but not sure they beat out the Audiotech.  They run about $45 K for what you'd want.
