https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ele/d/pittsburgh-vintage-dual-1229-automatic/7053851167.html

He doesn't address if the Single - Multi switch slides easily, if it doesn't the dearring is shot, that used to be fatal for these tables. There are now 3d printed parts to replace the "dearring". It's not a fun job, the whole arm needs to come out, broken down and reassembled.

Also not addressed is the idler wheel. If the wheel was left engaged, it will more than likely be flat spotted. Replacements are available for some $$$.

I get that these go for $300-400 in excellent condition and everyone raves about 1229's, my opinion is they are a bit over hyped which drives the prices.

See, you ARE the guru.

Just passing on things I had no idea about once upon a time.

It's not a horrible price, but a bit too high for me. Then again, if someone is looking for a tall/tinted dust cover they might think it's a good deal.

Looks clean. I've already got a relay related "project" spread out all over a desk.

The guy claims this is working.   If I had a big house like some of you, I would be all over this.   He's practically giving it away I think.

Jukebox = flushing your time and money into a black hole. Don't get me wrong, they're great when they work. When they don't, it's a huge pain in the ass. Mine is pushed into a corner of the garage with a blanket over it, because it constantly needs tinkering. The early 70's Wurlitzers are not a good choice. They got cheap and unreliable and overcomplicated. Microswitches and relays will haunt your existence. Finding info on them is equally maddening, the people who know don't share their knowledge freely or nicely.

Just my opinion here but both of those are pricey. I wouldn't go that high for either. Try selling one and you'll find very few people want one. Better bet is to go back to mid/late 60's models.

That's why you are a guru!!!

Lucked into some good vinyl today at an estate sale. I had the truck loaded down with weight equiment that I bought at an estate sale in Ross Twp and was going home when I had the impulse to swing by a sale in Mount Lebanon.  In a very messy packed house, I found a pile of about 10 records nestled in just their inner sleeves in the far corner of a very cluttered small bedroom.  Took a look at the vinyl and they were mint condition in the original inners and underneath the records were all but one of the cardboard sleeves.  Came home with

Breakfast Club soundtrack
Lifes Rich Pageant/REM
Little Creatures/Talking Heads
War/U2
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me//The Cure
Zenyatta Mondatta/Police
Singles going Steady/Squeeze
Human Lib/Howard Jones
The Queen is Dead/The Smiths
My Aim is True/Elvis Costello
Oranges and Lemons/XTC  (missing the outer sleeve!)

I have the evening listening cued now..
Technics SL-1350
Sony CA8ES
Primaluna Dialogue Two
Klipsch Heresy
