had a gift certificate for 1/2 PB and picked up two really good  albums yesterday....

Pat Metheny- New Chautauqua  just a great recording and remarkable guitar work

Wynton Marsalis-  Hot House Flowers.... sounds so much better than the CD!

ALso picked up a reissue of Janis Joplin's "Pearl"... which I'll start a new thread on. Worst reissue I've ever heard bar none. Sounds like the press had the grooves worn off or was covered in flannel.
a bunch of nice sounding stuff. Nice that I'm finally able to actually listen to file music for the first time...

Doc Severinsen with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops
Trumpet Spectacular

I saw & heard Doc perform all the pieces from this classical release along with some awesome big band stuff with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra back in the 90's. Great stuff.

I'm currently spinning a bunch of Sheryl Crow singles since none of her albums had vinyl releases (it does seem that the GH had a limited vinyl run in Japan, but I don't expect to ever see it). There may be a project here for me.

Hey PBJ-Was Doc wearing a magnificent, very red tux coat at the show you saw?  If so, we were at the same show.  What a performance.

MacGeek...I don't remember. I do remember it was his last performance of the series
Saw Wynton Marsalis that same year.
